Kagawa University, established in 1949, has six faculties – Education, Law, Economics, Medicine, Engineering and Design, Engineering, and Agriculture – and also offers opportunities for further study at its graduate schools of Education, Law, Economics, Medicine, Science for Creative Emergence, Engineering, Agriculture and Management.
In 2009, the International Office was established on Kagawa University's main campus as the division in charge of overseeing international exchange at Kagawa University. The Office serves as a focal point for gathering and disseminating information. The Office also works to promote international exchange at the university and within the community. This is done through the development of a global strategy based on international cooperation in education and research. The Office strives to cultivate close collaborative relationships between the various divisions of the university, and coordinates with the local community in international exchange and cooperation activities.

Kagawa University is a national university with four campuses, with the main campus located in Saiwai-cho, Takamastu city, in Kagawa Prefecture.
Kagawa Prefecture is blessed with a moderate climate and in addition to its abundance of nature, Kagawa is a well-connected prefecture. Kagawa takes pride in having the longest walking shopping arcade in Japan. Furthermore, there are many schools and enterprises in the region. With a high level of public order Kagawa is a safe place to live allowing for a comfortable campus life.
