Japanese College and University Portraits
Japanese College and University Portraits (JPCUP) has been developed by higher education-related associations including certified evaluation and accreditation organizations. It is a data portal for the publication of educational information on national, public and private universities and colleges for all to use. JPCUP information is provided by universities and colleges and has been available since March 2015.
JPCUP has the following objectives:
The National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education (NIAD-QE) has established a Steering Committee for Japanese College and University Portraits (JPCUP). The Steering Committee discusses how to manage JPCUP. NIAD-QE provides a platform for initiatives common to national, public and private universities and colleges. NIAD-QE also deals with information about national and public universities and colleges, and the Promotion and Mutual Aid Corporation for Private Schools of Japan deals with information on private universities and colleges. These two bodies work together to ensure that JPCUP system operates effectively.
NIAD-QE’s Center for Japanese College and University Portraits is responsible for the collection, management, publication and application, based on the management policy determined by the Steering Committee.
