Onomichi city has been a center of economic and cultural development in the Seto Island Sea area since ancient times. Onomichi City University shows the originality of its academic design, and improved academic and cultural perspectives in it's of "Wisdom and Beauty". Onomichi City has three departments in two faculties: Economics, Management and Information Science; Japanese Literature, and Arts and Design. Japanese Literature and Art are two icons to express that Onomichi city aims to be the ideal artistic and cultural city filled with vitality and sensitivity.

Education: We cultivate Onomichi City University provides precise knowledge, specialized ability, enriched education and broad intellectual horizons. It also fosters people who can contribute in local society as well as lead on a global scale. We maximize the advantage of the small-sized class structure, which is one of our unique characteristics. Furthermore, both spirit of 「教学半」 or "Half of teaching is learning". Onomichi City University firmly educates academic work, excellent specialized knowledge, and enriched humanity. Study: We Create Onomichi City University provides unique studies to broaden new horizen of "Wisdom and Beauty" based on the policy that enriched education needs continuous endeavor and academic foundation to produce the enlighten result. To do so, all of the university staff members cooperate and collaborate with different fields and outer organizations in a positive attitude, and practice further academic studies for the creation of genuine "Wisdom and Beauty". Contribution for Society: We Utilize Onomichi City University responds to the trust and the expectation of the public. Therefore; we continuously provide excellent education and studies for the cultivation and creation of “Wisdom and Beauty,” at the same time, we try to do our best to be useful to society. |

The city of Onomichi consists of many remarkable islands and is located in the eastern side of Hiroshima prefecture. It is a center of trade and sea transportation in The Seto Island Sea area. It has a mild climate through the year, and agriculture is one of the main traditional industries.Onomichi has been a center of tradition, culture, and industry in the Seto Island Sea area since ancient times. Now, Shimanami area is very popular as a cycling spot among active cyclists around the world. Shimanami Kaido connects Imabari, Ehime prefecture, to Onomichi, crossing many wonderful islands in-between. It provides a variety of attractive events, such as “Cycling SHIMANAMI” and “Setouchi Shimanami Kaido 3Day March.” |
