Features
Shinshu University is national university located at the heart of Japan, touting a rich cultural history. Its eight faculties: Arts, Education, Economics and Law, Science, Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture, and Textile Science and Technology and six graduate schools make a student body of 11,000, three hundred of which are from overseas. Each students will feel unique and special, but have the full support of their friends and staff. Students can partake in internationally recognized research while maintaining a high quality of life in a small modern city.
Boasting the most number of museums per capita in the nation, its citizens nurture and protect the three “gakus”, music, mountains and education. Though surrounded by dynamic and pristine nature, residents never feel out of the loop or without events to attend. The prefecture is the birthplace of many art and historic influencers; the artist Yayoi Kusama and Samurai Sanada Yukimura to name a few. Shinshu is a brand you can be proud to be part of.
The climate produces many seasonal fruits and vegetables, and is known as the miso capital of Japan, the soul of Japanese food. In the winter tourists travel to see the monkeys taking refuge from the snow in the hot springs. You too will soon feel at home in Shinshu.
