Shizuoka University, established in 1949, has seven faculties and one University-wide Undergraduate Education Program: Faculties of Humanities & Social Sciences, Education, Science, Agriculture, Department of Global Interdissciplinary Science and Innovation and School of Regional Development at Shizuoka campus; Faculties of Informatics and Engineering at Hamamatsu campus. The University now has six graduate schools and two research institutes.
