National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya (NIFS) is the only national university in Japan specializing in sports, which is located in the southern part of Japan, Kanoya city, Kagoshima.
Surrounded by mountains and ocean, NIFS offers students perfect conditions both for studying and dedicating to competition.
NIFS has established several sophisticated research facilities. Sports Performance Research Center is the newest one and has installed state-of-the-art equipment called a 50-m force platform systems. Those facilities support students’ academic activities and enhance their competitiveness.
Moreover, in the Center for Water Sports and Science, located only 10 minutes by car from the campus, students can play marine sports such as canoe and wind surfing.
